This is one of my favorite Reverends. The Revtron pickups are great (like I said in the Flatroc post), and they actually made the “clean” channel my old Mesa DC-5 sound good clean for the first time in a long time. Obviously the CKRT is similar to the Flatroc, and obviously it’s a semi-hollow, so the differences should be obvious to those who have played semi-hollows. For those who haven’t, there is a difference. Where the Flatroc is tight and focused, the CKRT is more open. I wouldn’t say it’s loose, just more open. It sounds like there’s a little more space behind the strings, if that makes any sense, like an extra dimension. This is starting to turn into quasi-hippy cat about feelings and stuff, so I’ll just say that ringing chords and chiming arpeggios were created to be played on a guitar like this. Plugged into an AC-30 (or even an AC-15, why not?) I can imagine that celestial would be an appropriate description.

The one in this picture is mahogany with 5mm spruce top and has also been sold, and the color has been discontinued and replaced with Honey. Rock Orange is still available as well, for the high value low price of $559.

This is a pretty cool guitar. Quit drooling because someone already wants to buy it, but I can get you another one if you want. I haven’t been able to spend a lot of time with it, but like every Reverend, it just gets better the more you play it. They’re very satisfying. Solid korina body, rosewood fret board, two Reverend P90 pickups. $499 suggested retail, bluesy licks extra.

And give me a break about the photography, alright? It’s getting better. If you want cool pictures go to, not here. This is where you buy stuff.

Reverend has made a limited amount of H90s—Daredevils and Volcanos with a GFS Mean 90 in the neck position in place of the standard humbucker. I just ordered three of them, so raid your sister’s piggy bank and give me a call. I’m not much of a collector myself—I don’t keep my guitars in glass cases or whatever—but for those of you who might be, each of the H90s is signed by Joe Naylor on the back of the headstock. These are gonna be cool guitars. I’m serious!

I also ordered a Roundhouse 290, which I have heard many good things about—just like every other Reverend. Ken of Polka Floyd recently told me he’s been using a Roundhouse 290 on stage lately. Can’t beat that for an endorsement.

Update edit: The shipment should be here Monday the 18th. I don’t know if you’re as excited as I am, but you should be.

Sort of like a Flatroc, but sort of not. That’s a T-style pickup in the bridge, which is don’t-sue-me-code for Telecaster. So this is like a Telecaster with a Revtron (Gretsch/Rickenbacker vibe) mini-humbucker at the neck, and a Tune-O-Matic set up. So not really exactly like a Telecaster. 25.5 inch scale length bolt-on neck (the 3 tone burst finish comes with a rose wood fret board), and solid korina body. Rave reviews all around for this one, and it’s not just for chicken pickers or country and western troubadours. Rockin’ folks can use it too. To rock with. Check the video.

Rock machine. Solid mahogany with raised center section ala Gibson Firebird, set neck, rosewood fret board, Gibson scale length, Bass Contour Control. Looks kind of Rickenbackerish, doesn’t it? Really, it kicks serious tail. Also available in metallic blue. $499 suggested retail price.

Rock, country, & whatever else there is out there. This is a chambered mahogany w/spruce top version, which is now discontinued. Very cool guitar. More later, the baby is crying.

This particular Flatroc has a chambered mahogany body with a 5mm spruce top. Reverend recently switched to solid korina on the solid body models. Some basic specs are Fender scale length, maple neck with rosewood fretboard, Tune-O-Matic bridge, and two Revtron pickups.

I think the Revtrons are under rated, or at least under appreciated. There’s a lot of talk about Reverend P90s and how great they are, etc, and they are, but the Revtrons are just as great. I hear them as a kind of Gretsch/Rickenbacker hybrid, but maintaining their own identity as well. They put out a crisp, ringing clean without being too cutting or harsh, but have the ability to get aggressive and crunchy if you want. Being mini humbuckers they have the powerful edge of a regular HB without the muddiness. With the Bass Contour Control you have added flexibility in the ringing/chiming/crunching department. Hooray for versatility!

Anyway, the best thing to do would be to show up and play it yourself. That way you’ll be so enamored of it that you’ll plunk down some cash and take it home. I only want the best for you, so I think that’s what should happen. $499 list, and a bargain at that price.
